These are work-in-progress builds

Read this before downloading: these plugins are betas (one is still an alpha). They work, we use them ourselves, but they are not finished.

  • Performance — CPU load is not optimised yet: avoid stacking ten of them on a heavy project.
  • Stability — plugin crashes, and even DAW crashes, are still possible, especially while loading a project or during automation.
  • Save often, and keep a copy of your project before adding these plugins to it.
  • Not recommended on a critical production session, a deadline or a live show: keep them for experimenting and work in progress.
  • Tested on Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit, only. No macOS or Linux build, no VST2 (.dll), AU or AAX.
  • Parameters and preset format may change between versions: an old project may not sound exactly the same after an update.

The plugins

Interface du plugin ODG Simple Spring

Simple Spring

beta 1.1.0

Spring reverb

The character of the spring reverbs of dub and reggae, boiled down to the essentials: length, colour, amount. Tone and Damping shape the grain of the spring, a Drive section adds a touch of saturation to the reverberated signal, and the built-in filtering removes the low end that gets in the way — enough to put a spring on a vocal, a skank, a snare or percussion without drowning the mix. The Dry/Wet control makes it work as an insert or on a send.

Interface du plugin ODG Simple Delay

Simple Delay

beta 0.8.1

Dub delay

A delay designed for dub mixing techniques, with the essentials one glance away. Synced to the project tempo or set by hand, with the rhythmic divisions that matter — the classic 1/8 dotted first. Repeats can be filtered with high-pass and low-pass, and several colour levels take it from a clean delay to a more analog behaviour, with saturation and slight pitch instability. Freeze holds the repeats in a loop, a Ping-Pong mode spreads them in stereo, and a small reverb follows the delay tail so it fades away more gently.

Interface du plugin ODG Simple Bass Cooker

Simple Bass Cooker

alpha 0.7.0

Bass saturation and harmonics

To make a bass or a sub audible on any playback system without losing the low end. Saturation progressively adds harmonics; the filtering and EQ that follow keep what has just been generated under control and avoid a pile-up at the bottom of the spectrum. A short, discreet reverb gives the signal a little space. As an insert or in parallel/send, the Dry/Wet control sets how much processing goes through.

Download the plugins

Create your ODGPROD account — one click with Google — and the downloads open. Your account keeps track of the versions you got, so we can tell you when an update lands.

With Google there is nothing to type and no email to go and fetch: two seconds and it is done.

Installing on Windows

No installer: the plugin is a .vst3 file to drop into the standard Windows folder, the one every DAW scans.

  1. 1

    Unzip the archive

Right-click the .zip → "Extract all". You get an item named "ODG Simple Spring.vst3". Despite the extension, it is a FOLDER: Windows lets you open it. Leave it alone and take nothing out of it — the whole folder, with everything inside, is the plugin.

  2. 2

Drop the .vst3 folder into the VST3 folder

Move it as it is into the common folder required by the VST3 standard, the one every DAW scans:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Without administrator rights, the per-user folder works too:

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Common\VST3

To keep things tidy you can create an ODGPROD subfolder and drop our three plugins in it: DAWs scan subfolders, they will find them just as well.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\ODGPROD
  3. 3

    Restart your DAW and rescan

Ableton Live: Preferences → Plug-Ins → Rescan. Cubase/Nuendo: VST Plug-in Manager → Refresh. FL Studio: Manage Plugins → Find more plugins. Reaper: Options → Preferences → VST → Re-scan. Bitwig: Settings → Locations → Rescan.

  4. 4

Load the plugin as an insert

The plugins show up under the ODGPROD manufacturer, with their version number displayed at the bottom right of their interface — handy to check which one you are running.

The plugin does not show up?

  • Check that your DAW is 64-bit and that it really scans C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.
  • Windows may have blocked the downloaded file: right-click the .vst3 → Properties → tick "Unblock".
  • Some DAWs only re-read the folder after a forced rescan, sometimes after a full restart.
  • VST3 only: there is no .dll (VST2), no AU and no AAX build.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a macOS version?

Not for now. The plugins are developed and tested on Windows 10 and 11 only. No macOS, no Linux.

Can I use them on a commercial production?

Yes, free of charge and royalty-free. Please do not redistribute the files though: link to this page instead — that is what lets us tell everyone about an update.

How do updates work?

Your account area (“My plugins”) shows when a newer version is online. To update, replace the old .vst3 with the new one in the same place, then rescan.

I found a bug, what should I do?

Write to us: DAW and version, Windows version, what you were doing when it happened. That is exactly what moves the next builds forward.

Found a bug, got an idea?

These plugins move forward on feedback. Tell us which DAW, which Windows version and what you were doing when the problem happened.
